Bible Love Story

The Holy Bible portrays many love stories. The greatest Bible love story is of course God's love for man - as He sent His only son to die in our place for our sins. Yes, man was doomed to die because of sin. And this is Godly love.

However, love between human characters are also portrayed Biblically. One of the most famous was the love between Ruth and Boaz. Ruth, a Moabite, was a daughter-in-law of Naomi, an Israelite. When Naomi's sons died, Ruth begged to stay with her mother-in-law even when Naomi had decided to go back home to the land of Judah.

Ruth became famous for her strong statements towards Naomi by saying, "Entreat me not to leave you, Or to turn back from following after you; For wherever you go, I will go; and wherever you lodge, I will lodge; Your people shall be my people, And your God, my God."

So Ruth went with Naomi to Bethlehem in the land of Judah. There Ruth worked with Naomi in the fields reaping. Soon Ruth found favor with the nearest kin of Ruth's deceased husband. This man's name was Boaz.

As the turn of events came to a romantic affair between Ruth and Boaz, they later got married. The Bible gives so much more romantic details to the events that led to the marriage of Ruth and Boaz which is recorded in the Book of Ruth. You can read this very touching story yourself. If you have no Bible, you can purchase one online at The Bible Source.

The marriage of Ruth and Boaz resulted in the birth of Obed, who became the father of Jesse. Jesse in turn became the father of David - the boy who killed Goliath. Yes, I highly recommend that you read the Bible yourself.
